Our House system encourages a sense of belonging and brings students from every year group together.
The House system provides a range of opportunities for students to participate in social activities, charity work and a great selection of inter-house competitions. Most of these carry points which lead to a formal presentation to the winning House at the end of the year.
Each form group is placed in to a House: Perseverance (red), Resilience (blue), Innovation (green), Determination (yellow) and Endurance (orange). Every House is led by a Head of Year. From September, students vote for House Form Tutor Representatives and House Captains giving students the opportunity to lead and inspire their peers as well as facilitate student feedback.
House events are designed to celebrate the breadth and depth of our students’ skills and attributes but most of all, they are fun! There is an enormous range of activities in which students can participate at regular intervals throughout the year. Just some of the activities that have taken place this year include: dodgeball, football, Christmas decorations made from recyclable materials, MasterChef, netball, tug of war and decorated Easter eggs. Activities from all curriculum areas are included so there is something for everyone to enjoy and to feel proud representing their House.
The final competitions are held on our whole school Sports Day in July when the House Cup will be presented. There is no runaway leader, any House could win. The excitement will be palpable!
