CURRICULUM
Subject-based Curriculum
In Years 12 and 13 all students study 3 or sometimes 4 courses (A levels or BTecs) from a wide range of over 23 subjects.
There are 3 different pathways combining A levels or Vocational subjects: A level only, A level and BTecs or exclusively BTec. Each pathway enables students to re-sit GCSE English and Maths if they did not make the required standards.
Find out more about the 23 Level 3 courses delivered through 3 curriculum pathways in our prospectus. With this level of choice and flexibility, there is something to suit everyone.
Wider Curriculum
Students are also supported through a thorough tutorial programme and have additional timetabled opportunities through a varied enhancement programme, including EPQ, MOOC and volunteering along with a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, field work, residential, visits, along with Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Students in the Sixth Form are treated as adults, with additional responsibilities and rights. They play an increased role within the school and wider community.

Curriculum overviews for each subject
Our principal philosophy for Key Stage 5 is that students strive to achieve their best in chosen subject areas; our aim is that all students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in examinations, but more importantly, develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around them in order to prepare them for opportunities in later life.
